About
With over two decades of experience as a speech pathologist, I have worked across clinical, academic, and research settings in Australia and internationally. Since specialising in stuttering in 2008, I have held roles in leading clinical and research settings focused on stuttering, including the Bankstown Stuttering Unit, Australian Stuttering Research Centre, Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and the University of Melbourne. I bring curiosity, care, and a strong clinical foundation to my work with individuals across the lifespan.
Professional Memberships and Associations
I am a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, an Honorary Clinical Fellow at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre (University of Technology Sydney), and a member of the Lidcombe Program Trainers Consortium. I am also a member of Australian Stuttering Education, an organisation dedicated to advancing best practice in stuttering intervention.
Education and Research
I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology from La Trobe University (2000) and a Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from CBT Australia (2009), which informs my holistic, client-centred approach to stuttering and communication support. In 2017, I completed a PhD at the University of Melbourne, where my thesis explored the relationship between childhood stuttering and anxiety. The findings from this research have been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences, including the Oxford Dysfluency Conference.
Teaching, Mentorship, and Supervision
Alongside clinical practice, I am committed to education and professional development. I have held academic and supervisory roles at several universities and have provided training to speech pathologists in Australia and internationally.
And finally …
I take great satisfaction in my work and feel fortunate to support individuals and their families. Every person brings a unique perspective, and it is a privilege to contribute to their journey. I’m committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice, to provide support that is both evidence-based and attuned to each individual’s goals and circumstances.
