Second Opinion Consultations for Speech Pathologists and Families

I offer second opinion consultations for clinicians and families seeking support and guidance during stuttering therapy. These sessions provide a comprehensive review, professional insight, and practical recommendations - particularly for complex cases or when progress has plateaued. They also offer collaborative input to help refine therapy goals and treatment planning.

Consultations are designed to complement ongoing therapy, supporting clients to continue working effectively with their local clinician. I work in partnership with the treating clinician, offering second opinions that strengthen the therapeutic process while keeping the client’s best interests at the centre of care.
*Second opinion consultations proceed only with the informed consent of both the family and the treating clinician.

Clinical Supervision and Mentoring for Speech Pathologists Working with Stuttering

I have had extensive experience mentoring and providing supervision for clinicians who work with stuttering, including the clinicians at the Australian Stuttering Research Centre and in private practice. I can provide one-on-one or small group mentoring for speech pathologists who are seeking professional support, whether for clinical decision-making, managing complex cases, or developing their skills and confidence when working with stuttering.

Mentoring and supervision sessions are tailored to your needs and can focus on areas such as therapy, working with neurodivergent clients, counselling skills, or broader aspects of clinical practice. Whether you are early in your career or an experienced clinician facing new challenges with stuttering clients, mentoring and supervision offer a collaborative, supportive space for professional growth. Sessions available via Telehealth across Australia

Feedback from clinicians

April 2026
Huge thank you Kylie! This information from someone with your expertise but ALSO your current clinical experience was exactly what we needed. I think it was practical, informative and nuanced. I hope for the team it will immediately stop the ‘I don’t do stuttering, out of my scope of practice’ discussions as well as giving them clear guidelines for clinical decision making. I also think your frameworks discussion has allowed the team, all coming with different experiences to ‘meet in the middle’ and as a clinical director and mentor it has given me a model to now adapt in the clinic around how we approach stuttering with clients and families and at the new referral point.

It is always so energising to hear from experts in their field who are still on the front line of clinical work and who remain passionate about outcomes for clients and families.
